I absolutely love going into my garden each morning to see what has changed since the day before. The most simple things bring so much joy to my heart.
Having a garden–of any kind–really makes you stop and appreciate the simple beauty that God puts in everything.
Today, as I walked through my garden, I noticed that my sunflowers are blooming. I see now why they are called sunflowers. As they open up, their yellow color bursts forth like a beautiful sunrise:
Not too far from my sunflower I spotted a dew drop on one of my collard leaves. It reminded me of a song that my Grandma Mattie used to sing:
” I come to the garden alone. While the dew is still on the roses. And the voice I hear falling on my ear. The Son of God discloses. And He walks with me, and He talks with me, And He tells me I am His own; And the joy we share as we tarry there, none other has ever known.”
It gave me much peace and I just sat there and stared at it for a while. It reminded me of the newness and freshness that God gives us each day:
And as if there wasn’t enough joy already in my heart, I spied my very first tomato fruit on one of my mater plants!! This is my Pineapple tomato:
Yay! I have faith that there are many more to come!!!!
Well, I hope my words today have brought you much joy, peace and inspiration! Until next time…

Hey, Ducky! Loved your blog post, particularly Mom's song. I could almost hear her singing it. A tear…and then a smile. Luv, Aunt J
So jealous…your stuff really looks good! Things are a little on the frail side around here. May have to reconsider my location, location, location next year.
Frank, I can't wait to take that picture!
Aunt J, yeah I remember her singing that song a lot
Carolyn, you can always come on over and pick yourself a basket full of stuff once the harvest is in!
