Hello Garden Gals and Guys! Well, the summer growing season is over and the fall growing season is upon us. I haven’t planted a fall garden, despite my best laid plans to have one. But that’s not going to stop me from posting. I don’t enjoy letting my blog sit dormant through the winter months, so I decided that I am going to do posts on various homesteading topics, including caring for my chickens. I hope you’ll continue to read this little ole blog of mine through the winter months. Now…on to today’s blog post topic!

Farming is a healthy way of life for me. Each day I make a conscious effort to look at the things I do, the things I purchase, the way I eat, and the way I live and strive to make changes that are good for my body and good for the environment. So today, I want to introduce a dish soap to you that really does work well, but is very easy on the environment.

The company is called Mrs. Meyers Clean Day. Some of you may have heard of it. This company carries a lot of all natural products of all types, but today I will focus on the dish soap. I absolutely love it!! I use it at my part-time job, and have now added it to my household. I found it in my local Giant in the Nature’s Promise Organic section, but you can order it directly from the website, or even on Amazon.com.  I like the lemon verbena scented dish soap.

To see why I like the product, you only have to read the back of the bottle:
Even though I have dishwasher, I still wash a lot by hand. Knowing that this product does not have harsh chemicals that will harm our water supply and soils means a lot to this farmer gal. Oh, and the bottle is made from recycled plastics too!
So, there you have it garden gals and guys! An environmentally friendly household cleaning tip!
Until next time….happy dish washing (well, ok not really, but you get what I mean).
