Hello Garden Gals and Guys! Yesterday while I was sitting outside watching my chickens forage I happened to notice a glint of red out of the corner of my eye. I walked slowly over to my garden cage and what did my wondering eyes see? YES! Two red tomatoes!!!

One of them had cracks from being a little overripe. I had stopped checking on the maters because they were just staying green with no hints at all of red. What a difference 3 days makes!
As I was coming out of the garden, I noticed a few of my romas had finally ripened too! I think I will wait for a few more of these to ripen and then I will make my first batch of tomato sauce.

I’m so happy to finally have tomatoes! Let’s hope the rest ripen in short order! Even my sunflowers were smiling down on my tomatoes:

It’s time to start my seeds for my fall garden. I’ll be trying a new experiment where I will be gardening throughout the winter months. I’m reading a book all about how to do it. I’ll share that book and my ideas in my next blog post so be sure to visit again soon!
Until next time garden gals and guys….

Happy gardening!!!
